They are supposed to be held every quarter and usually it's the case workers, the county case workers, foster parents and biological parents/family who are invited. The child will be invited to attend if they are older than 12. Often times, they are held in my house, although a few times I have gone to the agency. I haven't had many meetings with the biological family involved, either by being present or via the phone, which is sad. I agree, the meetings are helpful to get everyone up-to-speed, however, they are exceedingly frustrating when the case is sitting in limbo and everyone has more questions than answers. My agency usually gives me a hardcopy update, which sometimes contains background information I didn't know about but find helpful.
